The Beggining

Christmas Eve 2008 what a day that was, it all started a few weeks earlier. We took Lewis to the doctors because he had a blocked nose for over 4 weeks and his neck was swollen...

The doctor sent him home with pencilling and a nose spray. A week later we took him back to the same doctor to get a blood test; we waited five days and got the result, doctor saying nothing wrong he doesn’t need any medication.

We knew something had to be wrong with Lewis as a swollen neck like he had was not normal. That weekend the other side of his neck came up and we started to worry, we took him to the Hants doc emergency on call doctor, and he gave us antibiotics and took a swab of his mouth.

We got the results back on the Wednesday and the doctor saying there’s nothing wrong he doesn’t need any medication.

On the Wednesday we took him back to see a different doctor, he wanted another blood test and we got asked to come back in the morning. The doctor we saw then said she didn’t like the look of the swollen neck and sent us to the hospital.

We were booked in for blood counts on Sunday, Biopsy on Monday and Tuesday we visited the Piam Brown ward in Southampton. Wednesday Christmas eve Lewis had an operation to test Bone marrow .

We have been told Lewis has Non Hodgkin’s Lymphoma which is a Cancer and this is his story told by me, Lia his twin sister.

  1. Hi, my name is Julia and I came across this blog and heard of what your family is going through via Ben's youtube account. I am very sorry to hear about what you and your family are going through. Especially getting sent to and from different doctors until you figured out what the issue was. I just wanted to let you know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers. Take care.
